Restaurant density serves as a crucial metric, guiding operators when evaluating opportunities for new ventures in the restaurant industry. Meaningful Vision’s data collection focuses specifically on the 50 largest fast-food chains in Ireland. Comparatively, the distribution of fast-food outlets in Ireland is slightly lower than in the UK, with 25.5 shops per capita versus 28.9 restaurants per capita, respectively. However, Dublin leads with 58.4 fast-food outlets per 100,000 people, while London has 44.3, and Belfast appears to have the least dense coverage with only 36.7 restaurants per 100,000 people.
Dublin has become a hub for a cosmopolitan business community, with a broad range of cuisines and tastes to be catered for. Restaurant density numbers for Dublin reveal it to be one of Europe’s top destinations for fast-food.
Maria Vanifatova, CEO of Meaningful Vision Ltd, elaborates: “Dublin’s thriving economy, which heavily relies on its ability to attract international businesses, hosts 250 global financial institutions and nine out of the top ten global Information and Communication Technology companies — including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Meta. Dublin has become a hub for international communities.”
