The UK’s fast-food landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, with a notable surge in new restaurant openings in the first nine months of 2024.
Meaningful Vision reports a 2.8% growth in the total number of new fast-food restaurant openings among the 100 largest chains compared to the previous year.
Chicken chains have emerged as the primary growth driver, with a remarkable 7% increase in outlets. Ethnic fast food followed closely behind, with a nearly 7% growth rate.
Coffee shops experienced a 3.6% increase, fueled by popular chains.
Bakeries, sandwich shops, and burger chains maintained steady growth, while pizza delivery outlets saw a modest 0.4% growth.
